Before real estate, I owned a screen printing and embroidery business for over a decade. I liked the work and I liked the customers, but the conditions caught up with me — long days on my feet over the presses, breathing chemical fumes. It wasn't something I wanted to keep doing for another twenty years.
What I did want to keep was the part I was actually good at: selling, and dealing with people. Running that shop meant quoting jobs, solving problems, and keeping customers happy enough to come back. Real estate turned out to be the same work with better hours and no fumes.
I got my New York license in 2016 while I was still living there. In 2018 my family and I moved to Oakhurst, and I got licensed in New Jersey the same year. I've held both ever since.
Oakhurst is home. When I tell a client what's happening in Ocean Township or Long Branch or Asbury Park, it's not something I pulled off a report — it's the market I live in, drive through, and sell in every week.
That matters more in Monmouth County than people expect. The pricing here changes street by street, not town by town. A few blocks can be the difference between two very different numbers, and knowing which comparable sales actually apply to a house is most of the job.
I answer my phone. Any time, anywhere. If you call me and I can pick up, I pick up — and if I can't, you'll hear back from me the same day. That sounds like a low bar until you've tried reaching an agent on a Sunday when your inspection contingency is running out.
I take the difficult transactions. Deals with title problems, tenants in place, estate sales, buildings other agents don't want to figure out. Those are the ones where having someone who'll actually work the problem makes a difference, and they're usually the ones I enjoy most.
The reason is simple, and I'd rather just say it: I'm not trying to make money on your deal. I'm trying to be the person you call for the next one, and the person you send your brother to. That only works if I'm straight with you about what your house is worth and what the market is actually doing, even when it isn't what you were hoping to hear.
Oakhurst, Ocean Township, Long Branch, West Long Branch, Asbury Park, Neptune, Deal, Elberon, Eatontown, and Wanamassa, plus the rest of Monmouth County. I'm also licensed in New York, which helps for clients moving between the two states in either direction.
